Christine Elizabeth Purnell, passed away on January 11, 2020, in the loving arms of her parents, after a long term illness. Christine was born April 28, 1987 in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 5 she moved to Asheboro, NC with her family where she has resided since the move. She attended Southwest Randolph High school and graduated with a GED from Randolph County Community college and continued her education there with the goal of an Associate's Degree.
Christine's favorite place to be and spend time was Greenbush, Michigan on the shores of Lake Huron during summers with her family and extended family. Christine was a kindest most loving soul and was loved wholeheartedly by her immediate and extended family and friends. She loved all earth's creatures and was a true advocate for injured and abused animals. Christine would not hesitate to report abuse, feed, water and comfort animals not being cared for or take in strays. She also cared deeply for children and would give the shirt off her back if she knew a child was not able to be fed or clothed. Christine truly had a heart the size of a mountain and was always there for friends and family.
She is survived by her parents, Brian and Cheryl Purnell of Asheboro; her sister, Sara Purnell and her children, Hailey, Bryson and Jase of Asheboro; her brother, Paul Purnell and fiance SarahJane and daughter Parker of Bethpage, TN; her grandmother, Margaret Krause of Greenbush, MI, and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
