Asheboro- Harold “Butch” Grandville Varner, 69, passed away June 20, 2019, at Randolph Hospice. Born December 4, 1949, he was the son of the late, William Andrew Varner & Rosa Lee Vuncannon Varner.
Butch was a retired truck driver and worked as a mechanic for Asheboro Hosiery as well. He enjoyed old cars and hot rods. He liked singing and playing guitar, as well as listening to music. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Dixie.
Butch is survived by his children, Sherry Cifuentes (Juan) of Ramseur, NC, and Rodney Varner (Tina) of Asheboro, NC; partner, Sonya Varner of Asheboro, NC; siblings, Jean Shope of Black Mountain, NC, Sammy Varner of Greensboro, NC and Danny Varner of Randleman, NC; 9 grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Mario, Abby, Brett, Madison, Jaden, Ceanna & Micah; and 3 great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Aiden, and Tyler. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Shirley Horton, Bobby Vuncannon, Lester Varner, W.C Varner, Larry (Tiny) Varner, Michael Varner, and Donald Varner.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Randolph Hospice House, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203. Services entrusted to Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service.
