Jamie Farlow, age 43, of Randleman NC closed his eyes to rest on Wednesday, 10-16-2019, for the last time on this earth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Alfred Farlow. Surviving him include his wife- Tracy Dawn Farlow, his mother- Jane Ickes Farlow, his daughter- Rachel Sarah-Beth Farlow, and his step children Jesse Brendon LaPine, Dustin Wayne LaPine and Dylan Lee Sewell, along with other beloved friends and family.
Jamie was mechanically smart. He could fix anything in front of him. He worked for the City of Asheboro at the water plant for over 10 years. He was a certified welder who at one time ran a small business from home called Miscellaneous Welding and Repair. He later continued throughout his life getting his hands dirty with several other construction jobs such as crushing and operating equipment. He worked, and he worked hard- enduring the heat and cold, mud and other unpleasant work conditions- but never complained.
Jamie was a lover of the outdoors. He loved animals, being at the river where he grew up, fishing, hunting, guns, knives and hiking. He could sit outside from sunshine to stars just soaking it all in.
Jamie was the type of person who never met a stranger. He would do anything he could to help anyone in need. He always said that he treated everyone the same, it didn’t matter if you were homeless or rich- he could talk to anyone. He would quite literally take the shirt off of his back and offer it to you if you needed it more than he did.
Jamie often used sarcasm and his sense of humor to connect with people. He could make anyone laugh. He often claimed to be the most “calm natured, even tempered, gentle minded” person that he knew. He would spit that out like a tongue twister- but if you knew him at all then you would know he was often seen as the exact opposite.
Jamie was a lover (and a fighter) and when he loved he did so with his whole heart. Those who ever knew the love in his heart were lucky. The love he shared was pure and it was strong. He never watered down who he was or how much he loved his family when speaking to anyone.
The family is asking for continued prayers in this time of grieving. He will truly be missed.
Jamie will be cremated and there will be no funeral service. A private memorial may be held at a later date for immediate family only. Services entrusted to Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service.
