Milton Cleveland “Cleve” Small went to be with Jesus on May 11th 2019, surrounded by his loved ones. Cleve lived everyday to the fullest and never failed to make those around him smile. Family and friends will always miss all his jokes and his infectious laugh that seemed to follow him everywhere. Cleve was a proud dad to his 5 children and honored to be called grandpa by his 3 grandchildren. Cleve was head over heels for his wife, Shelly and he made sure everyone knew the fairy tale type of love they shared since the day they met. Cleve worked hard, but during his free time he could be found on the golf course or playing softball with his friends. He grew up in Level Cross and graduated Randleman High School in 1975. He always loved being outside and working on his family farm.
Cleve is preceded in death by his father L.J. Small and his mother Mary Small.
He is survived by his wife Shelly Small, his sons Jesse (Stephanie) Small, Josiah (Nikki) Small, Isaac Miconi, and his daughters Grace (Stephen) Wiley, and Madeline (Jimmy) Miconi. His grandchildren Grayson Small (4), Olivia Small (1), and Bellamy Small (1) as well as his sisters Sabrina (Bobby) Spencer, Jodi (Gary) Curtis, Melissa Small, and their families.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you pay it forward with a random act of kindness in remembrance of Cleve. Feel free to use the hashtag (#remeberingcleve) on social media to show the family the different ways that it has been paid forward in his memory.
