Asheboro- Ralph Joseph DeBari, 79, went to be with Jesus, Monday, May 13, 2019. Born November 18, 1939, in Suffolk County, NY, he was the son of the late, Lawrence Dominick DeBari and Sophie Ohman DeBari.
Ralph worked at his family’s restaurant his father built, DeBari’s Pavilion, located in Rocky Point, NY, all through his younger years and through high school. The restaurant served as St Anthony’s Catholic Church on Sundays until the official church was built. Ralph graduated from Seton Hall Catholic High School in NY. Ralph later owned his own company, DeBari Pool and Spa, where his customers were like family to him. He retired in 2010 and enjoyed watching races and sports. He was a member of the Judicial Watch and the National Rifle Association. He was also a teacher at United Methodist Church in Margaretville, NY, where he was saved in October of 1977.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Julie Farkas DeBari, whom he married in November, 1959, in Flushing, NY; sons, Bill DeBari (Vickie), and Steve DeBari; daughters, Anna Thomas (Bryan) and Julie Campbell (Scott); grandchildren, Ryan DeBari (Kendra), Eric DeBari, Jon Thomas (Emily), Kari Faulkner (Ryan), Joseph DeBari, Kayden DeBari, Madeline Lyman, Sophie Grace Campbell, Amy Evey (Joel) and Julie Schlein (Marlin); 14 great grandchildren and one on the way; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Lawrence DeBari, Jr and William DeBari; sister, Marie Caponetta; grandson, Marshall DeBari; and great granddaughter, Brooklynn DeBari.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Midstate Cremation and Funeral Service, 304 Lanier Ave, Asheboro, NC 27203. The family will receive visitors at 2:00pm with the service to follow at 3:00pm.
