Clay Clarence Routh, 84, of Randleman, went to be with Jesus on April 28, 2021, after a lengthy illness at home.
Clay was retired from Klopman Mills where he was shop foreman. He enjoyed racing and raced some in his younger years. He also enjoyed going on bus trips and camping at the beach with his wife and friends. Over the years he cut wood for himself and other people to heat homes. He loved spending time with his family and special pets, Bear and Star.
Clay is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dianne Vuncannon Routh of the home; sister, Mary Inman (Dale) of Level Cross; brothers, Frank Routh (Sondra) of Asheboro, R.P. Routh of Greensboro, and Larry Routh of Franklinville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Clay is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Edna Foust Routh; brothers, James Routh and Darrell Routh; sisters, Blanche Allred, Helen Jarrett and Ruby Routh Routh.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at First Assembly of God, 909 Meadowbrook Rd, Asheboro, NC with visitation beginning at 12:00pm and a service to follow immediately after at 1:00pm. Burial will be held after at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro, NC.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the people who prayed for them and to Community Hospice for all of their kindness, help and support. Special thanks and gratitude to Larry Routh, Frank VonCannon, Tony Ingold, and Portia Hicks; whose help made it possible for Clay to remain at home.
