Greensboro- Clyde Delano Kelley, 86, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Randolph Hospice. Born February 21, 1936 in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Roy Wilson Kelley and Lorene Dobbins Kelley.
Clyde graduated from High Point Central where he also played football. He was a lifelong fan of Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force from which he was enlisted, November 27,1956 until his honorable discharge, November 26, 1962. Clyde worked for Burlington Industries, and Galey and Lord Textiles as a cost analyst until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and his grandchildren whom he adored. He also liked listening to classical music and opera. His favorite composer was Mozart.
Clyde is survived by daughter, Patricia Kelley Cloud and her husband Jeff; step-daughters, Lynn Parks and her husband Mark; Cindy McCullouch and her husband Ellis; stepsons, Gene Kennedy and his wife Deanna, Ronnie Sutphin, Steve Sutphin and Michael Sutphin; grandchildren, Anna Cloud, Rosemary Cloud, Joshua Parks, Rachel Edge, Gabriel Parks, Dylan Kennedy, Lauren Kennedy, Griffin Kennedy, Matthew McCulloch, Andrew McCulloch, and Haley Colway; and great grandchildren, Aria Edge, Carter Colway and Jack Colway.
In addition to his parents Clyde was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Kelley, Maxine Kelley Waller, Christine Kelley Hicks, James Kelley, and Robert Kelley.
Clyde will be cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date.
