Obituary

Asheboro- Connie Stone ,53, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2020 while at home. She was a devoted wife to Michael Stone for 21 years.

Connie was a teacher for 20 years before obtaining her dream job as a Digital Integration Facilitator (DIF) for Moore County Schools. She prided herself in helping her students and co-workers grow into their potential. If you had a question about Science or Technology she could answer it.

Connie was the First Lady of Heavens Warriors Ministry. She was dedicated in each of her positions as the Pastor’s Wife, Treasurer, and Praise and Worship Leader.  It was her goal and desire to uplift and undergird her husband, Mike, to spread the Word of Jesus Christ and to let everyone know it’s never too late and no one has gone so far that the Lord’s love, mercy, and grace can’t reach. She wanted not just to get people connected to God but for them to stay connected.

Connie was a friend and mentor to many as she always had other people’s best interest at heart. She was always willing to listen and give advice even when it was hard to hear. She was loyal, faithful, and made a meaningful impact on many people.

Connie loved making memories with family and friends. She loved any day she was able to spend with her grandkids and looked forward to weekend getaways with her husband. She loved to try new recipes in the kitchen, making homemade candy, and going above and beyond to make holidays special for everyone.

Connie is survived by her husband Michael Stone, daughters Kassandra Tincher, son Donald (DJ) Tincher III, daughter Lauren Stone, sister and brother-in-law Jeni and Jamie Johnston and sister Tammy Osborne, brother Alva Osborne, parents Joyce and Alva Osborne, granddaughter Alazae Hyatt, and grandsons Jacob Bennett, and Jaxson Tincher. She is preceded in death by her sister Kathleen(Kathy) Jewel Atkins.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Michael Stone at 3505 US Hwy 220 Bus South Asheboro, NC 27205 to help cover funeral expenses.

I used to attend church with Connie and Mike Stone at Freedom Life years ago.She was a ray of sunshine and so so sweet! I'm am so blessed to have met her and will never forget her trying to encourage me to get my GED...which I did later go and get it.I remember her and Mike taking us out to eat Chinese after church one day and hanging out with them at their home one day.I thought alot of her and her sweet soul and kind spirit! We went separate ways through the years but I have never forgotten what a blessing it was to know her! Prayers for comfort in this time for Mike Stone and her family!! I remember her talking about how she lost her sister in a tragedy and I know she must have reunited with her with that Beautiful infectious smile of hers! One day we will reunite with her and all of our loved ones and Jesus...What a day that will be.

So very sorry to hear of Connie's passing.  It was a great joy to have known her and worked with her- she really knew her stuff and was always willing to try something new to make things better for the students she worked with.  She will be greatly missed by all.

I remember singing on the praise team with Connie and I got my dress caught on my shoe and ended up in the floor. We couldn’t stop laughing. I also remember our ladies’ conference trip and all the fun we had. She was a special lady and blessing to me. I am sad to hear this news but I know I will see her again in heaven and we can laugh together again.

    Pastor Ben Chavis says:
Connie,  Your infectious smile & laugh will certainly be missed.  I feel fortunate in that Freedom Life Church was the first church you & Mike became members of in NC after your move from WV.  What a delight to be you & Mike's Pastor for a season in your life. Freedom Life Church loves you & your family.  I hear the words of John in the Book of Revelation ringing in my spirit...."Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from hence forth; Yea, saith the Sprit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." (Revelation 14:13).  Thank you so much for your labor & work for the Kingdom.
