Obituary

Asheboro- Doris Bishop Hayes, 75, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Randolph Hospice. Born March 2, 1947 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Rowland Bishop and Dorma Law Bishop.

Doris enjoyed riding motorcycles; floral arrangements; crafts and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Michael D. Bishop.

Doris is survived by her husband of 27 years, Thomas Hayes; children, Natalie Kessel of Norfolk, VA, Kimberly Gulley and her husband Tony, of Burlington, NC, and Darrell Loy, Jr. of Gibsonville, NC; step-children, Jeffrey Hayes and his wife Crystal of Mt. Airy and Preston Hayes of Greensboro; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and siblings, Donna Carlton of Snow Camp, Vickie Coble of Snow Camp, Mitchell Bishop and his wife Nancy of Waynesboro, VA, Daniel Bishop and his wife Nancy of Mt Airy and Samuel Bishop of Liberty.

A visitation will be held at 10:00am Friday, June 24, 2022 at Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service, 304 Lanier Ave, Asheboro with a service to follow after at 11:00am.
