Asheboro- Edward Ralph Lamb, 64, passed away Thursday, July 8th, 2021 at Woodland Hills. Ed’s health had been declining after a series of small strokes due to exposure of toxic water at Camp Lejeune and shrapnel within his body which were both obtained during his military tenure. Born March 29, 1957, in Asheboro, NC he was the son of the late John Clark Lamb and Virginia Frye Lamb.
Ed was brought up in an orphanage before joining the Navy. He was a former HM2 Navy Corpsman embedded with a Camp Lejeune Battalion for 8 years, and was a survivor of the Lebanon Beirut Marine Barracks bombing. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1984. Ed worked as a water tester for United Brass Works and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his niece, Paula Brigman of Asheboro; his caregiver, POA and Guardian, Cheryl T Hurley of Seagrove; as well as many friends and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Donald Lamb; sisters, Betty Paige Smith, Brenda Mitchell, Pat Beck, and JoAnne Lamb Simpson.
