SILER CITY — Harvey “Hunter” Reavis, 77, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at Duke University Hospital. Born Feb. 10, 1943, in Henderson, he was the son of the late Archie Reavis Sr. and Nannie Floyd Reavis.

Hunter received his formal education at Middleburg School in Vance County and later attended Elon University. He worked as a shipping supervisor with Americal of Henderson for 26 ½ years; then as a supervisor at the UNC School of Dentistry in Medical Records for 10 years. Hunter enjoyed competition handgun shooting. He owned and showed quarter horses and Tennessee walking horses with his wife, Pat. He was a member of the NC Walking Horse Association.

Hunter is survived by his wife Patricia; brothers, Beverly Reavis (Jean) and Sam Reavis (Nancy) as well as seven nieces and nephews.
