Obituary
Michael “Mike” Joseph Beitzel, long-time resident of Kernersville, NC, died unexpectedly on April 27, 2023 at Forsyth Medical while undergoing treatment.
Mike is survived by his fiance Vickie Jones, his son Matthew, and his faithful dog Layla.
Mike was born in central Michigan on September 1, 1963 to Mary Ann Holder and David Willis Beitzel but spent most of his years growing up and living in North Carolina where he enjoyed music, 4x4 off-roading, and long-distance road trips around the southeast United States and particularly enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving with his aunt Diane and uncle Robb.
In his later years, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, mastering amateur BBQ, and sporty political conversation with anyone brave enough to listen. He could make a friend from any stranger and his large personality will be missed by family, friends, and neighbors alike.
In lieu of flowers or donations the family encourages community members to consider a donation to a local charity in his honor. Private services will be held.
