Michelle Lynn Sims, 34, of Asheboro, NC, entered into eternal rest on November 21, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
Michelle was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Matthew John Sims (now of Black Walnut, PA) and Roseann Heck-Sims (now of Asheboro, NC) on June 10, 1987.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rosemary and Donald Heck, her paternal grandfather Matthew John Sims and her maternal great grandmother Verna Heck.
Surviving along with her parents are her brother, Christopher M. Sims (Marie Pastorino) of Asheboro, NC, her loving husband Chad Poindexter of the home, her step children Vincent and Percephany Poindexter (Juan Corona-Vazquez) of the home, the light of her life, her 4 month old granddaughter Athena Corona-Vazquez also of the home. Also surviving are her Grandmother Elizabeth Sims of Plymouth, PA, Aunt Michelle Doyle of Plymouth, PA, Aunt Charlene Heck of Larksville, PA, Uncle Brian Heck (Dawn) of Laurel Run, PA, Uncle Bobby Heck of Pittston, PA and Uncle Eddie Heck of Williamsport, PA. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and great cousins.
Arrangements have been made through Midstate Cremation and Funeral Services of Asheboro, NC. A Celebration of Life is being planned at a later date.
In closing, the family would like to thank Dr. Lewis and the entire staff at the Randolph Cancer Center for their kindness and compassion during her illness. Also, the staff at the Randolph Health Emergency Room that worked on November 20th and November 21st. You were all so kind and caring during Michelle's transition. Thank you all!
