Phillip Randy Edwards, 67, of Asheboro, passed away on July 13, 2022 after battling Cancer for over a year. Randy was born on September 30, 1954 in Asheboro, North Carolina. He was a long standing member at Oakwood Park Baptist Church. He attended Asheboro High School and received his GED at RCC. He worked at General Electric for 11 years and retired from United Brass in Randleman after 29 years. He was an accomplished machinist and welder. Randy was a force of nature who loved his family and his garden. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Edwards and Martha Hazel Pritchard and his sisters, Betty Evans, Delores Bulla and Shirley Johnson and his father and mother in law, Merrill and Lillian Broadstreet. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha Broadstreet Edwards and his daughters Sherry Lynn Hill and Brandy Edwards Mulkey (Mike), grandchildren, Ronan Cash Hill and Wesley Charles Mulkey, sisters, Jeannine Sharon (Don) and Faye Bennett (Larry), brothers Gilbert Edwards (Bonnie), Gary Edwards (Sherry) and Joe Edwards (Mary) and over 25 very and special nieces and nephews that Randy loved very much as well countless great nieces and nephews that he cared for. There will be a memorial service at 194 Cresent Dr., Asheboro, Oakwood Park Baptist Church on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2:00. A gathering next door at the fellowship hall will follow.
