Obituary
Scott Eugene “Hoop Daddy” Gibbs, age 57, of Lexington, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
A native of Guilford County, Scott was born June 20, 1965 to the late Jess “Ed” Gibbs and Patricia “Pat” Earnhardt in High Point. He received his formal education from Trinity High School and went on to own and operate his own arboriculture business, Nature Boyz Tree Service in Lexington. In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time with his family, singing in the building and spoiling his grandkids. Scott enjoyed his wife, Julie’s cooking and was proud to have accepted Christ as his savior.
Scott leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Julie Berrier of the home, daughter Traci Herring and husband Kevin of Asheboro, Son Zachary Estep, Daughters Brittany Blackburn and Savannah Gibbs and husband Kyle, and daughter Lexie Bice, brother James Gibbs, sister Rena Gibbs and all his grandchildren; 19 of the most beautiful spoiled grandkids.
The family will conduct a service of remembrance for Scott at a time and place to be announced at a later date.
