Denton- Retired Sgt. Robert Thomas Jeffries, 89, passed away Thursday October 22, 2020 at Green Valley Hospital in Greensboro. Born June 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Thomas Jeffries and Edda Mae Howard Jeffries.
Robert received his formal education from Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, MD. He was baptized at a very early age at Baptist Homes for Boys, and was a member of Carriage Hills Baptist Church. Robert was a Sergeant in the Air Force where he honorably served from 1952, until his retirement in 1967. He worked for Bell South as an electrical box engineer. Robert was a member of the Lions Club, and enjoyed reading, and learning new things. He also enjoyed the people at the senior center.
Robert is survived by his children, Theresa J Homlish, Robert Jeffries Jr, and Philip C Jeffries (Gaye); grandchildren, Kathy Homlish, Michael Homlish, Kimberly Ranshaw Ford, Stephanie Pegelow (Nick) and Hope Jeffries; and great grandchildren, Trinity Ranshaw, Ian Ford, Brody Pegelow and Lucas Homish. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis Jean Fritts Jeffries, and his sister Kathy Howard.

A memorial will be planned for a later date due to Covid-19. Robert’s final resting place will be Washington National Cemetery Park in Sandstone, VA.
