Franklinville- Sherry Jarrell Norman, 63, passed away, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in her home. Born January 14, 1958 in Randolph County, she was the daughter of Barbara Ann Cagle Elliott and the late Weston Tanford Jarrell.
Sherry graduated from Asheboro High School. She was a singer, song writer and entertainer for bands such as Black and Blue, The Clifford and Curry Band, and Bill Scott and the Georgia Profits. She was the co-owner of 220 Grill for many years and the owner of Randleman Restaurant for a period of time. She was a volunteer and employee of the Christian Outreach in Asheboro for 4 years, as well as Live to Give Ministries. She enjoyed caring for her family, friends and animals and enjoyed making arts and crafts. She also enjoyed listening to the rain on her porch.
She is survived by her children, Toni December McElveen, Frank Wesley Norman, Brantley Joseph Norman, and Cassidy Dellanne Norman; and her six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, and her loving partner of over 17 years, Jim Riggs.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Friday, June 18th, 2021 at Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service, 304 Lanier Ave, Asheboro, NC 27203. A gathering for friends and family will be held shortly after at Sherry’s home 3575 Hwy 22 N, Franklinville, NC 27248.
