Obituary

Asheboro- Tyler Clarence Coltrane, 28, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Born September 25, 1992, in Guilford County, he was the son of Mimi Suzanne Coltrane and the late Don Scott Burgess.

Tyler graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School. At 26 he accepted Christ into his life and was saved at Landmark Baptist Church. Tyler loved hunting, fishing, wildlife and just sitting in nature. He enjoyed archery, firearms, and Baseball Travel Team. He was a member of the NC Wildlife Association.

Tyler is survived by his mom, Mimi Suzanne Coltrane; brother, Drew Coltrane; grandparents, Melvin and Becky Coltrane; aunt, Pamela Coltrane Smith; cousin, Gage Smith; uncle, Shannon Smith; and god aunt and uncle, Gary and Cathy Overman.  Tyler was preceded in death by his father, Don Scott Burgess; grandparents, Fred and Eva Mae Burgess; great grandmother, Verta Mae Coltrane; and god grandparents, Roger and Peggy Overman.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Landmark Baptist Church, 2816 Spoons Chapel Rd, Asheboro, NC 27205, with family visitation to begin at 2pm and a service to follow immediately after at 3pm.

In honor of Tyler, the family requests that if available, please wear your camouflage or your baseball attire. No need to purchase anything new though, come as you are and be welcomed. Flowers and plants are welcomed, but in the event a donation is preferred the family requests that those be made to Keaton’s Place; an organization located in Asheboro, NC.
